Gabriela Braga Rodrigues wins first edition of Lineapiù Talents Award

The winner of the first Lineapiù Talents Award, program designed to support emerging knitwear fashion talents, is Gabriela Braga Rodrigues with her own brand Gabrielab. The committee voted for the young Brazilian designer out of a selection of 10 young designers from all over the world.

“This award is just like a long time awaited engagement proposal. One of the best surprises that life reserves to you, which I have always been dreaming of. I’m here, with romantic spirit, but ready for this experience of hard work and great enthusiasm” Gabriela Rodrigues said in a statement.

In the forthcoming weeks the Braga Rodrigues will officially start the collaboration with Lineapiù Italia, beginning with an exclusive research session at the company Archivio Storico – to select and introduce Lineapiù yarns necessary to the creation of the sample collection, the first of the six collections planned by the Lineapiù Talents program.

The 24 year old Gabriela Braga Rodrigues, graduated in Fashion Design at San Paolo University. After graduating she attended the Master in Creative Knitwear at Accademia di Moda e Costume di Roma, obtaining the sponsorship of United Colors of Benetton for the closing master course collection. In 2014 she founded her brand Gabrielab, characterized by a production of knitwear pieces of a significant content, a distinctive mix of high technology, refined pattern and artistic inspired colors.

Lineapiù Talents, a project presented last June during Pitti Immagine Filati, is the program launched by Fondazione Lineapiù Italia, with the goal to support emerging knitwear fashion talents on the national and international panorama who have distinguished themselves for their use of yarns and the quality of their knits.
