The Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT) in New York City is set to host its first ever live painting competition and event under the name ‘Live Art Duel.’

The duel sees FIT students across different disciplines create works of art using various mediums during the course of three timed rounds. Fans and spectators will be able to watch the artists' work and see the creative processes come to life. Then, at the end of each round, a panel of judges will be asked to vote for their favorite works. The selected finalists will go through to eventually face off in a championship round, with each participating student receiving a prize.

All of the artwork created during the event will be auctioned off after the competition with proceeds benefiting FIT students and the FIT Foundation. The FIT Live Art Duel is supported by Marc Jacobs, Blick Art Materials, James Tralie, and The RealReal and will take place on November 14, from 6 to 9 pm at FIT’s John E. Reeves Great Hall.
