IED Barcelona and photographer Manuel Outumuro unveil winners of photography award

The European Institute of Design IED Barcelona and photographer Manuel Outumuro have announced the winners of the Best Shooting Award from Fashioners of the World 2020.

The first prize was awarded to Laura Pérez for her shooting of the collection Atila. Outumuro said in a statement: “The white border she’s used emphasises and provides a graphic counterpoint to this collection, which I also loved in all the clothing and accessories.”

Margarita Dalit was awarded the second prize for her shooting of the collection Hekla as Outumuro said there was a “certain nostalgia and post-industrial aspect.”

Sofía Adell was given the third prize for her collection entitled Ser, Outumuro explained that the collection stood out to him because of its “atmosphere of intimacy, of warmth and comfort in the garment, which is very well reflected in the shooting.”

The students from fashion design and fashion design (BA Hons) carried out their photoshoots at home due to Covid-19. The scientific fashion director at IED Barcelona Pilar Pasamontes emphasised the effort made by the fashion students: “They were in the midst of a pandemic and did it with the bare minimum they had available at home.”
