Ravensbourne University London presented its graduates’ mixed reality showcase at London Fashion Week (LFW) on 17 and 18 September. It was the only school selected to attend the event by the British Fashion Council (BFC).

The BA honours fashion students exhibited a digital film and physical fashion experience at the event, combining both digital technology with traditional fashion workmanship. The themes at the event were ‘dense forest’, ‘digital landscape’, ‘high tech’, ‘neon surrealism’ and ‘surreal landscape’.

Press outlets such as Condenast Traveller, Dazed, GQ, Harper’s Bazaar, i-D, Tatler, The New York Times, The Times Sunday Times Style, Vogue, Womenswear Daily and Wonderland attended the event.

Lee Lapthorne, Ravensbourne fashion director, said in a statement: “It is impressive that our students have been exposed to the opportunities that showcasing at an intentional event such as London Fashion Week brings.

“We have been able to showcase how our students pivot seamlessly between virtual worlds and the reality of craftsmanship. Our next generation designers will be the most versatile yet!”

Chloe Culpin, commercial projects manager at CreativeLab, added: “It was great to produce a show that the fashion industry wanted to support plus all the amazing people who helped make the show possible. It just shows the high calibre of work and designers that Ravensbourne produces.”
