Institut Français de la Mode’s (IFM) Master of Arts graduate students have opened Paris Fashion Week (PFW) for the second time with a film that combines both actual and virtual dimensions to reveal their final collections.

59 students from studies including accessory design, fashion design, fashion image and knitwear design took part in the graduate show directed by The Stimuleye and Antoine Asseraf.

With the support of technology startup Stage11, the accessories students for the first time were able to incorporate a digital accessory to go along with the physical collections because of the educational tools and resources that were available. Additionally, the fashion image students were able to create a virtualisation project of the fashion and knitwear collections.

Xavier Romatet, dean of Institut Français de la Mode, said in a statement: “Opening Paris Fashion Week is an essential milestone for IFM. It will be an opportunity to appreciate the creative level of our students, to spot the emerging talents of tomorrow and to contribute to rethinking future fashion.”
