Istituto Marangoni has expanded its engagement in Saudi Arabia with a fashion and luxury masterclass in Jeddah, marking the Italian institution’s first event in the city. The session was hosted by the Consulate General of Italy at the Park Hyatt and brought together creatives, industry representatives and emerging talent.

“Decoding Luxury: from elite rarity to everyday prestige”

Led by Anna Zinola, School and Education Director at Istituto Marangoni Riyadh, the masterclass, “Decoding Luxury: from elite rarity to everyday prestige,” examined how the definition of luxury is changing. Discussions covered evolving consumer expectations, accessibility, individuality and the ways brands are adapting their products, experiences and communications.

The Jeddah event follows Istituto Marangoni’s establishment of a Riyadh campus in 2025. The school’s Saudi programmes were developed in partnership with the Ministry of Culture’s Fashion Commission and include areas such as fashion design, fashion communication, fashion management, digital media, fashion product and fragrances and cosmetics management.

For fashion students and educators, the development illustrates how international fashion schools are using local partnerships and industry events to connect global education with emerging regional markets. Istituto Marangoni’s Riyadh programmes also incorporate practical elements including workshops, internships and project work, alongside opportunities for students to continue their studies at the institution’s London or Paris campuses.
