ITS opens applications for design competition

International Talent Support (ITS), a talent platform, has announced that applications have opened for Building the Ark, a design contest for students from fashion schools.

The competition is open to teams of a maximum of two people and they must be recent BA or MA accessories, fashion or jewellery graduates or students graduating this year, and young fashion designers.

For fashion projects a minimum of five and a maximum of eight outfits are required from any season or gender. There are six categories in the accessories project allowed including bags, belts, body pieces, glasses, hats and footwear, a minimum of five items are required. All types of jewels are allowed in the jewellery project and five items are needed to enter.

As well, a digital portfolio, a video of the portfolio and a video presentation must be submitted. There is also a digital contest open to accessories, fashion and jewellery designers that do not intend for their work to be physically translated.

“I hope that we can look back in 10yrs time with a sense of accomplishment and respect for all we have achieved this year: building Arcademy is also our answer to the crisis and changes that bring about renewal because under one roof we will converge two decades dedicated to prosperity through creativity.

“In a situation that remains critical we felt compelled to contribute to one of the most hard-hit sectors, and thanks to our partners we can continue supporting young talents to launch in the future,” the founder of ITS Barbara Franchin said in a statement.

There will be several prizes to be won at the event sponsored by various partners and patronages. The winner of the ITS Digital Fashion award will be given 3,000 euro and Vogue Talents will award a special mention to an accessories, fashion or jewellery finalist and the winner’s collection will be featured on its website.

The ITS Responsible Creativity award sponsored by Allianz is 10,000 euro, the OTB award is 20,000 euro and the Swatch Art Peace Hotel award assigned is 20,000 euro, all awards mentioned will select winners from the accessories, fashion and jewellery applicants.

Additionally, the Lotto Sport award will give 3,000, 2,000 and 1,000 euro respectively to three winners who produced a sneakers project and the ITS Fondazione Ferragamo award will give 5,000 euro to a footwear applicant.

Applications will close on 24 June and the Building the Ark event will take place at the end of October 2021 where the winners of the contest and the ITS’ 2022 activities will be announced.
