New York City’s LIM College is partnering with global fashion e-learning platform Motif on a series of online fashion business courses covering supply chain, sustainability, and advanced spreadsheet analytics.

The first LIM online course on supply chain will be released at the end of August 2020, followed by a course on sustainability, and advanced spreadsheet analytics for fashion professionals seeking to upgrade or expand their skill sets.

Courses are 4-6 weeks in length, for 1.5-2 hours per day, and cost between 290 - 525 US dollars each. All instruction will be delivered asynchronously, meaning participants can start a course any time they like and complete it on their own time.

Motif, the e-learning platform that offers advisory, course creation services as well as a community-based marketplace for professional training material is supporting the development of LIM courses on its Motif.org platform.

LIM instructors will have access to Motif’s newly released course authoring tools and source advisory services, which are built for instructors, universities and companies to self-publish.

“We started Motif with the aim of connecting apparel professionals around the world with the skills and industry expertise they need to transform their business, lives and careers,” said Catherine Cole, chief executive of Motif in a statement. “Today, we are taking it a step further through our upcoming e-learning courses with LIM College. Their addition to Motif.org is our first foray beyond apparel courses. The new course catalogue extends our online training offerings for fashion, apparel and footwear professionals.”

LIM College president Elizabeth S. Marcuse, added: “LIM College has been at the forefront of educating fashion’s future business leaders since 1939, fostering a unique connection between academic study and its application in the workplace. We chose to partner with MOTIF because their commitment to advancing the innovation, technical intelligence, and practical skills needed to succeed in the fashion world uniquely aligns with the education LIM provides.”

LIM College is focused exclusively on the study of business and fashion and offers both online and on-campus associate, bachelor’s, and master’s degree programs in a variety of fashion-focused majors.

Classes are taught by industry professionals and veterans who are experts in their fields, covering areas of study including Fashion Marketing, Fashion Merchandising and Retail Management, Global Fashion Supply Chain Management, International Business, Visual Studies, and Fashion Media.
