Florence-based fashion school Polimoda has introduced new seasonal courses: sixteen one-month programmes which center on a variety of different fashion-related topics. The new courses at Polimoda are aimed at students who are either interested in learning the basics of different facets from the fashion industry or extending their current knowledge in this domain. Prior to launching the new seasonal courses, the Italian fashion school only offered four summer courses.

Students are able to choose from sixteen courses, of which eight are taught at the faculty for Design & Technology, with the other eight being taught at the Business & Communication-department. Courses from the first faculty include the following: Fashion Design, Leather Design, Luxury Design, Fashion Technology, Leather Technology, Footwear Technology, Fashion Portfolio, Fashion & Visual Arts. Students who are interested in the business side of fashion, can choose to enrol for the following courses: Fashion Brand Management, Fashion Marketing & Merchandising, Fashion Buying, Fashion Product Communication, Fashion Writing & Communication, Fashion Business Administration, Luxury Management and Fashion Trend Forecasting.

All courses from the school of Design & Technology are taught in Italian and English, meaning that students need to have knowledge of both languages. Additionally, students who choose to participate in a programme at this faculty can choose to do so on a part-time basis for one month or on a full-time basis for two weeks. The programmes at the Business & Communication are all taught part-time for one month and will be completely in English. Participants for the seasonal courses are able to begin December, March, July or September.

The application deadline for all programmes is one month before the start of the course, and students can apply online. Each course costs 4.000 euros, but students who also enrol for an undergraduate or Master´s programme at Polimoda pay a discounted fee of 3.000 euros. Students who are already studying at Polimoda, will pay the regular fee.
