Florentine school Polimoda has launched a virtual presentation entitled ‘Postcards from Florence’ committed to showcasing the school’s students and Florentine’s most well-known spots.

The digital presentation has presented 30 young international creatives who have posted over 150 black and white photographs accompanied by stories and poems written by those students to portray the city through young people’s eyes.

The shots displayed on the digital platform were taken in 2020 so the city is shown at a semi-deserted time due to the impact of Covid-19. Users can explore various Florentine locations with the platform, some of the locations include Piazza del Duomo, Santa Maria Novella and Teatro del Maggio Musicale Fiorentino.

Janie, a Polimoda student from South Africa, said in a statement: “The city drew me in. The vibrant atmosphere made me stay. The untouched beauty, art and culture resonated with me in a way that any other city never could.

“A city that makes you feel time can slow down for a little bit longer to savour every precious moment it has to offer before another day begins. It becomes your safe haven. Your place to grow, learn and your journey of self-discovery.”
