Polimoda has presented a new Food Styling course thanks to its collaboration with chefs, fashion designers, stylists and trend forecasting experts.

Launching in January 2023 in Florence, the six-day intensive course blends beauty, creativity and quality, and it was created to unlock the world of food styling.

This course was designed for hotel, and restaurant chefs who wish to style their dishes with the latest trends and presentation techniques as both food and fashion are made with colours, feelings, imagination, memories and shapes.

Michelin-starred chefs including Enrico Bartolini, Enrico and Roberto Cerea and Mauro Uliassi will feature in the course. Students will be introduced to fashion design, fashion iconography, food photography, styling foundations and the latest social media trends.

Massimiliano Giornetti, director of Polimoda, said in a statement: “Just as fashion guides our choices in the way we dress, the styling of food and table settings influence our taste in gourmandise.

“When getting dressed is no longer just covering up and eating is no longer just fuel for the body, the appearance and beauty of a dish become as important as its flavour.

“Today, consumers are increasingly looking for an all-encompassing experience that represents their lifestyle. Hence, worlds that seem different come together and find each other through canons, suggestions and experiments.”
