Polimoda, a Florence-based fashion school, has teamed up with The Microsoft Garage, a Microsoft programme designed to deliver and encourage customers and employees to work on projects about which they are passionate.
The partnership will launch a new edition of a three-year Bachelor in Fashion Marketing Management at Polimoda in October 2022.
The programme aims to make students aware of the latest developments in the fashion industry's business and technology sectors to prepare them for acquiring jobs in the future.
The Bachelor in Fashion Marketing Management will consist of academic and practical learning. Students will work on real-world projects with Microsoft Garage mentors and learn how to apply the latest tools and techniques to move the fashion industry ahead.
Massimiliano Giornetti, director of Polimoda, discussed the change in the concept of creativity: “The creative process still strongly follows a hands-on approach. I believe that digital exploration when combined with both manual and artisan sensitivity, can lead to the enrichment of creative concepts,” he said in a statement.
Mike Pell, director of The Microsoft Garage, described the opportunity for students specialised in communication, design and marketing to explore careers in the tech industry as the following: “It’s something we desperately need to inject an exciting new energy into our industry,” he added.
