Reutlingen University, a university of applied sciences, has announced the departure of Andrea Kurtz, honorary senator.

Kurtz was unanimously appointed honorary senator in 2010 as it was said in a statement that he always tried “to act for the good of the university, both internally and externally.”

He has also worked in other roles at the university for 23 years, for instance, he has been the chairman of the Förderverein Campus eV since 1988.

Additionally, he supported the university in many ways, for example, Kurtz’ membership in the University Council for 15 years.

Professor Dr Hendrik Brumme, president of Reutlingen University, said in a statement: "Unfortunately there is no higher distinction that can be awarded, otherwise today would be the right day for it."
