The Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD) has unveiled SCAD Luxe, a new luxury archive and research center designed to support academic study and professional engagement with the global luxury industry. The initiative is housed at SCAD locations in Atlanta and Savannah.
SCAD Luxe provides students with access to a curated selection of rare and iconic luxury objects, including couture garments, accessories, fragrances and design artifacts. Drawn from the SCAD Permanent Collection, the archive functions as both a working classroom and research laboratory, supporting programmes across fashion, luxury brand management and creative business disciplines.
The inaugural exhibition, The Art of Luxury: Iconic Craftsmanship, features pieces from heritage houses including Louis Vuitton, Hermès, Chanel, Gucci, Tiffany & Co. and Scalamandré, highlighting craftsmanship, house codes and design innovation. Rotating exhibitions will continue throughout the academic year.
The launch reflects SCAD’s broader strategy to integrate industry-facing resources into higher education, offering students hands-on exposure to luxury heritage, innovation and professional practice.
