Setchu wins first prize at Who is on Next? 2022

Setchu, a womenswear brand by Central Saint Martins graduate Satoshi Kuwata has been announced as the winner of the first prize of the 12th edition of Italy's Who is on next 2022. The contest is for emerging designers, organised as part of Altaroma Fashion Week. The award ceremony took place yesterday evening in Rome's Piazza del Campidoglio.

Menswear brand Mokoo by Bum-Mo Koo came in second.

Genderless clothing brand Lessico Familiare by Alice Curti, Riccardo Scaburri and Alberto Petillo ended up in third place.

Altaroma will host all the finalists and winners of this edition during the 2023 event, while Camera nazionale della moda italiana will present the collections of the winners during the Milan women's fashion week in September 2022.

Menswear label Gams Note by Alessandro Marchetto and women's accessories brand Karim Daoudi will receive the Pitti Tutoring and consulting award, which consists of six months of pro bono mentorship to support and enhance fashion designers in their professional and creative journey in the fashion industry.

In past editions, Who is on next? has rewarded now established Italian fashion brands such as Marco de Vincenzo, Gabriele Colangelo, Act N.1, Paul Andrew, Msgm, Stella Jean, Arthur Arbesser, Benedetta Bruzziches and Alessandro Vigilante.

On the catwalk last night were the collections of footwear and accessories brand 10.2'', Çanaku, Gams Note, Karim Daoudi, Lessico Familiare, Lucia Chain, Maison Laponte, Mokoo, Morphine, Setchu and Vìen in the ready-to-wear and accessories categories.
