The GEC Textile Award 2022 applications open

The Global Entrepreneurship Centre (GEC) has launched the GEC Textile Award 2022, a competition to identify innovation with transformative potential for a more sustainable textile world.

The application is open to entrepreneurs globally who have a technical development level beyond Technical Readiness Level (TRL) 5, as defined by the Horizon 2020 programme of the European Commission.

The two categories in the competition are fashion textiles and technical textiles and the following criteria will be assessed: business viability, global climate targets, innovation, market potential and partnerships.

There will be three winners awarded, the first prize is valued at 200,000 euros, the second prize is valued at 100,000 euros and the third prize is valued at 50,000 euros.

The applications close 31 December 2021 and the winner of the competition will be announced on 6 March 2022.
