TMO Fashion Business school in the Netherlands has teamed up with social enterprise My Lima Lima. The two partners have launched a new initiative with the aim to promote a more sustainable fashion industry while at the same time supporting a variety of local charities.

My Lima Lima is an organisation that collects money for charity by selling clothes. Its founders, Eloise van Oranje en Thomas Latcham, opened their first garment hub on March 12 on the TMO campus in Doorn, Netherlands.

The goal of the hub is to offer a means to donate clothes, which are then sold at the My Lima Lima shop in The Hague. The proceeds go towards Dutch charities such as KidsRights, the Everyday People Foundation (Stichting Everyday People) and the Youth Education Fund (Jeugdeducatiefonds).

The garment collection hub at TMO also happened in the context of Circular Economy Week in the Netherlands which is an annual event that aims to bring together (emerging) entrepreneurs involved in circularity initiatives. The 2024 edition took place from March 11 to March 15.

In addition, the launch coincided with the start of TMO’s ‘Spring Closet Cleaning’ campaign among the school’s students and educators. Alumni, fashion entrepreneurs and other stakeholders of the institution are also participating in the campaign.

Apart from the hub at TMO’s campus, Lima Lima is collaborating with the school in other ways. For instance, two of this year’s graduating students initiated their final research projects in collaboration with the social enterprise during circular fashion week.
