Accademia del Lusso launches Master in Sustainable Fashion Design

Accademia del Lusso, an Italian fashion and design boutique school, has launched a one-year Master in Sustainable Fashion Design.

The master's aims to teach its students through theory such as individual research and practical work; students will participate in presentations and group projects while also gaining in-depth insights from experts about their experience in the fashion industry. By the end of the course, graduates will have a portfolio to present to potential employers.

The Master in Sustainable Fashion Design was designed for students who are focused on environmental responsibility processes related to the fashion supply chain and who intend to develop eco-sustainable products.

Students will cover the following modules: accessories collection development and processing, buying techniques and merchandising, collection design and planning, collection costing and processing and eco-fashion and sustainable fabrics.

In addition to courses including fabric finishings and embellishments, fashion graphic design, moulage and 3D pattern making, personal branding and portfolio, project management and start-up, textile design and workshops.

For those who complete the degree, graduates could start a career as an art director, collection manager, fashion designer, footwear and accessories designer, product manager, sustainable fashion designer, textile designer and textile and materials researcher.

The master begins in October 2022.
