Confindustria Moda, the Italian Federation that brings together the seven associations representing the textile, fashion and accessory sectors, has announced the results of the first edition of Fashion Talent Days, an online job fair.
More than 7,500 participants across Italy took part in the event, 1,300 applications were received and 60 percent of those participants were under the age of 35-years-old and nearly 1,000 people connected to watch the live webinars.
Fashion Talent Days was organised and promoted by the Education Committee of Confindustria Moda in collaboration with Umana, a job agency. Since the event was so successful from 9-11 November, the platform is now available until 31 December.
Cirillo Marcolin, president of Confindustria Moda, said in a statement: “We observe with satisfaction the important numbers that the Fashion Talent Days has obtained, a sign that creating a system and working as a team as a sector brings results that individually would not be achievable.
“The whole society has to gain from the synergistic collaboration between institutions, companies and the education system, to bridge the mismatch that still persists between the demand from the world of work and the training offer. The improvement of this process is fundamental both for companies to grow and become stronger, and for young people to find work after their studies, in order to make the whole country system stronger as a whole.”
Maria Raffaella Caprioglio, president of Umana, added: "Fashion Talent Days is an innovative e-recruiting model that has proved effective precisely because it is able to open the doors of the fashion industry to the new generations using their languages and tools. Encouraging the meeting between companies and young talents is the goal that has driven this initiative and the success it has achieved pushes us to continue on this path.”
