European fashion and design school Istituto Europeo di Design (IED) presented its fashion and design installation at Dubai Design Week 2021, an event that celebrates talent in the arts and took place from November 8 to 13.

Two projects created by IED alumni were selected for Dubai Design Week and the aim of IED’s presentations were to highlight young talent along with sustainability initiatives.

The first project that was invited to represent IED at the event was ‘Light Shelters’, a physical exhibition which consisted of two sub-projects. The first sub-project was by Yellowdot Design Studio and it was entitled ‘Hatch’.

The second sub-project was an initiative by the IED fashion design alumna Andra Handaric (Andra Handaric Studio) and it was called ‘Assemblage 2.0’. The project was created with the intention to encourage people to reflect on their own actions.

The second presentation was the design installation ‘Cyanosoba’ by Lana Sokolova, IED Madrid alumna.

IED said in a statement that the two projects are: “a perfect balance of passion, creativity and the protection of an ecosystem.”

Next to the above projects there was also a Global Grad Show. The projects of the selected IED students selected were: Native by Camilla Bassan, Saphten by Diego Acosta Vidal, Reverso by Francisco Lara, Stem Kits by Rajat Parmar and Gaye Temizarabaci.
