IED Madrid and Recovo award most innovative textile circularity students
May 12, 2022
Istituto Europeo di Design (IED) Madrid and textile resale platform Recovo have awarded the most innovative and aware students in textile circularity.
The competition was created to raise environmental awareness in the fashion industry. Students in IED Madrid's fashion degrees were eligible to enter the competition, and they had the task of designing a complete capsule collection proposal with the following criteria: a concept, an inspirational mood board, a selection of Recovo fabrics and the final designs/sketches.
The chosen winners were Vittoria Santilli with her Latidos collection and Irene Menéndez with her Corsetry collection.
The jury including Recovo’s founding team, as well as IED alumni and designers Carlota Barrera, Moisés Nieto and Tiscar Espadas, selected the winners because of their creative, innovative and sustainable approaches.
As the winners, Santilli and Menéndez will receive a credit to buy deadstock fabric from Recovo's digital platform for their first collections.
