London College of Fashion (LCF) students were challenged to design garments which capture the essence of Powerpuff Girls, the American animated series about three superpowered sisters Blossom, Bubbles and Buttercup. The project stems from a partnership between the school and Cartoon Network, the television channel which exhibits the series.

The ten best designs, chosen by Cartoon Network, were unveiled during London Fashion Week in an event at Somerset House on Friday. “Through this project our young designers were given the opportunity to collaborate with a big media name whilst allowing them to showcase their designs in an exciting way to celebrate The Powerpuff Girls who always challenged the very outdated stereotypes of young girls”, said a LCF spokesperson in an email to FashionUnited.
