Istituto Marangoni Mumbai has launched a new product design course that combines India’s craft heritage and Italian design.

The eight-month undergraduate progression course merges individual work with teamwork exercises while researching and evaluating past and current trends in order to learn how best to develop product design proposals.

The course aims to merge India’s history of handicrafts with Istituto Marangoni’s Italian roots to build the bridge between the perceived dichotomy of Western and Eastern design, according to Instituto Marangoni.

The learning focus of the course will be modules such as design methodology and development, the history and culture of product design, product analysis and branding, and technical drawing and rendering (CAD) to create a final project and portfolio creation at the end of the course.

Students who complete the course could enter one of the following career opportunities: concept designer, design director, product designer, product development manager or system designer.
