Istituto Secoli, a fashion design school, has collaborated with fashion brands including Alexander McQueen, Gucci, Herno, In.Co Spa, Versace and Zamasportto to launch a new headquarters in Novara, Italy.

The new headquarters will provide graduates with "tailor-made and located" prototyping training; it is over 450 square metres in size. There will be classrooms and laboratories with state-of-the-art tools and technologies for the school’s prototyping department.

Opening in October 2022, graduates will be able to attend the Fashion Prototyping course, where they will learn cutting and ironing techniques, industrial and tailoring methodologies, moulage and defects correction, and patternmaking methods. In addition, students will take part in an internship programme.

Matteo Secoli, president of Istituto Secoli, said in a statement: “For the first time in Italy, the world of training and the fashion companies create a new educational reality, designed for companies and built together with them. We are proud to have been able to involve important brands in the territory of Novara, leaders in their reference markets, who immediately believed in this project.

“Prototyping is a strategic area in the production process of fashion companies; the professionalism that has been developed over the years plays a key role in the design process. These important figures are increasingly difficult to find on the market and, until now, there were no specific training paths. For these reasons, we decided to put our skills at the service of local businesses and realize this project with them.”
