LIM College and the Japan Educational Foundation (JEF) have confirmed that all regulatory approvals have been secured, completing JEF’s acquisition of the renowned fashion- and business-focused institution.
Despite the transfer of ownership, LIM College will continue operating independently in New York City under its existing name, maintaining the same campus, academic programmes, tuition structure, and administrative staff.
According to LIM President Ron Marshall, the partnership opens up in a press release “expanded global platforms” and access to greater academic and financial resources, which are expected to enhance value for students, faculty, and industry partners.
JEF — which already oversees institutions such as the fashion-specialised French school ESMOD and Japan’s Professional Institute of International Fashion — said the acquisition strengthens its global portfolio and reinforces its commitment to specialised education in fashion, lifestyle, and related fields.
For students and prospective applicants, the acquisition is not expected to change day-to-day operations, admissions requirements, or student support services.
