Natalia Rivera is appointed as the new Head of Fashion Design at Marbella Design Academy. Rivera is a fashion designer with more than 15 years of experience working within the fashion field. Most recently she has been launching her collections in Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Madrid and has been invited to international catwalks with her own brand Natalia Rivera. Rivera has experience working for international companies as a fashion designer and visual merchandising for international companies in the UK and Spain.

“Natalia is highly committed and impassioned to educating and inspiring the next generation of young fashion designers,” according to a statement from the academy. Rivera will, together with the team of fashion tutors in the Academy Fashion Department, offer a Fashion Design & Manufacture program that will focus on the global vision and understanding of fashion design with a philosophy that embraces fundamental principles of sustainability, integrity, and contemporary relevance.

“The program takes students through the design process of design development, conceptual thinking, intellectual flexibility, and garment creation, whilst applying digital resources, innovation and sustainable processes, and ensuring an organic learning process. Fashion students will learn how to anticipate aesthetic and social change, to style and shape the future of Fashion, leading to new aesthetics and responses about the practice and industry in fashion.”

The intakes of the new program will start on September 28. Students can sign up for the course on the Marbella Design Academy website.
