Polaris Career Center has unveiled a new Fashion Design & Merchandising program set to launch in fall 2026, offering high school students a two-year pathway into the fashion industry. The initiative is available to juniors from all six Polaris partner high schools and will be based at Berea-Midpark High School.

Developed in partnership with the Kent State University School of Fashion, the program will provide hands-on learning in key areas including fashion design, merchandising, marketing and entrepreneurship. Students will gain industry-relevant skills aimed at preparing them for creative and business roles within the fashion and retail sectors.

An experienced fashion professional with a background in design and industry mentorship has been appointed to lead the curriculum, bringing real-world insight and guidance to young learners.

Applications for the 2026–2027 school year are now open through the Polaris Career Center website.
