The Fashion & Textile Technologies program at Saxion University of Applied Sciences has been certified with the Sustainable Higher Education hallmark. The certification proves that the program has anchored the sustainability goals of the United Nations in its educational program, according to the press release.

The training program recognizes and acknowledges the sustainability issues in the global textile industry and challenges students to investigate these issues and come up with solutions to them. Fashion & Textile Technologies was evaluated on five levels: ad hoc, coherent, systematic, partner-centered and impact on society. The program has shown to meet at least Level 3, according to the press release.

The United Nations' sustainability goals, Sustainable Development Goals (SDG), consist of 17 goals to make the world a better place. The program has demonstrated compliance with the topics of Fair Work & Economic Growth, Industry Innovation and Infrastructure, and Responsible Consumption and Production.
