SUSTEXMODA - III International Congress on Sustainability in Textile and Fashion
SUSTEXMODA began in 2014 motivated by the concerns of a group of people from society, academia and government concerned about the causes of the negative impacts of the Fashion Universe. The researchers at Universidade São Paulo, coordinated by Associate Professor Francisca Dantas Mendes have, over time, conducting studies and publications, developing socio-environmental projects, academic events and other similar with the aim of disseminating information and seeking effective solutions to the impacts caused in the economy, society, environment by the Textile Chain and Fashion Industry.
In 2017, the NAP SUSTEXMODA was approved by the Pro-Rectorate of Research of USP, with the purpose of providing visibility to the positive impacts and seeking solutions to the negative impacts of the textile and fashion industries.
In 2018 occurred the beginning of socio-environmental projects in partnership with the public power of the municipality of São Paulo in order to potentiate effective actions.
The International Congress on Textile and Fashion Sustainability had its first edition in May 2019 in face-to-face mode. The second edition, in virtual mode, occurred in November 2020, also bringing together researchers, professionals, and entrepreneurs from the sector.
