CATWALK_Following Milan’s latest fashion week, Trendstop.com’s trend professionals have distilled thousands of images from the shows to bring you an expert analysis on next season’s key styles. Our Top 5 MFW Trends - selected exclusively for FashionUnited - highlight key developments

across colour, print, clothing, accessories and footwear that can be easily adapted into retail merchandising for Fall/Winter 2014-15.

1) COLOUR – Jade Teal
Vintage-inspired Jade Teal lends an approachable sophistication to Milan designs. A minimalist approach allows materials and cuts to speak for themselves, as seen with Marni’s leather bag or Jil Sander’s midi skirt.

2) PRINT – Painterly Expressionisms
Apparel is transformed into canvases for artistic prints and patterns this season. Painted daubs resemble florals on MSGM sweaters, as Marni’s dress makes a statement with a multicoloured palette effect.

3) CLOTHING – Funnel Neck Dress
Simple yet chic, sporty Fall/Winter dresses incorporate funnel neck collars for a modern silhouette. Costume National add interest to an understated design with a bold colorway, as artistic prints borrow from Milan's key print trend at Sportmax.

4) ACCESSORIES – The Folded Shopper
Shopper accessories are relaxed with supple textures that allow for folded silhouette, allowing for new way to carry bags. Jil Sander’s black leather style almost resembles a clutch, as Gabriele Colangelo adds a sporty element with lemon-lime blocking.

5) FOOTWEAR – Elegant Sports Blocking
Rounding off the Milan Fall/Winter trends, elegant footwear styles take on an athletic appeal with bold color blocking. Pops of red stand out on Angelo Marani’s stiletto heels, while Prada go avant-garde with a perforated yellow wedge.
