Benetton for dogs

Italian fashion brand Benetton is expanding its clothing collections with one aimed at man’s best friend. The Benetton canine collection features two sweaters, a sporty hoodie and a cable patterned turtleneck, which are both available in orange, pink, blue, green and gray – so there is a design to coordinate with every type of dog.

The Benetton dog sweaters, which have yet to be priced, will be available at the brand’s stores across thirty countries and will come packaged in personalised gift boxes.

Creating collections for dogs isn’t new - Ralph Lauren has a comprehensive collection for dogs offering small jackets, sweaters, shirts, scarves and even hats. Luxury British brand Burberry also looked into the dog market, but stopped in 2009, however fellow heritage brand Mulberry still offers dog jackets and regularly features canines in its fashion shows.
