Brush strokes, pointillism or paint splatters? This season art and fashion have joined forces in very literal paintwork styles.

Art and fashion are two forces that have long fascinated designers, think the making of the Mondrian dress by Saint Laurent, while more recently in menswear, Raf Simons has created a collection in collaboration with artist Sterling Ruby.

This season from Givenchy to Dior Homme and Margiela, there seems to be an eclectic collision through brush strokes and paint splatter with fabrics and leather goods.

And the prices of some of these items are like original works of art: a Raf Simons Sterling Ruby customised and hand painted parka costs 22,500 euros at LNCC.com.
