Football fever hits the catwalk

Football fever will soon hit the globe, when the World Cup launches in Brazil in 2014. Fashion brands have already embraced the trend and the SS14 and AW14 catwalks were rife with football references.

From soccer jerseys to polonecks, athletic shorts and socks, sweats and trackpants, the styling could easily work on the football pitch.

Colours including red (presumably based on the penalty card colour) as well as graphic black and white, grey and green, the colour of astro turf. Goal net prints were seen on sweatshirts and shorts.
