The new-look Versus Versace and its collaboration with British designer JW Anderson has finally been unveiled at an event held in New York.

Not simply a catwalk presentation, the launch of the latest incarnation of Versus Versace at New York’s Lexington Avenue Amory was a multimedia affair, which was streamed live on the brand’s new website and via Google+, which also included a host of bloggers reporting live on the event.

The runway, which was intercut with live performances from Grimes, Angel Haze and Dead Sara, revealed the new-look Versus Versace collection featuring reinventions of classic Versace looks – such as leather studded jackets, safety pin adorned cut-out mini dresses and op-art prints, which all became immediately available to purchase online.

Sitting alongside the core collection designed by the Versace team was the one-off JW Anderson capsule line, which consisted of androgynous clubwear featuring body-con crop tops, neon ribbed knits, Zebra striped leather and safety pinned dresses. A collection described by Anderson as a “modern, sharp, Versus Versace, with a focus on the shared wardrobe - a man in a woman's wardrobe, and a woman in a man's”.

Donatella added: "JW Anderson's collection for Versus Versace is provocative, daring and fashion forward. He is unafraid to question everything, challenging conventions to create something completely new.

“Versus Versace is about rebellion and revolution, and JW Anderson captures this spirit and energy perfectly with his collection.”

The JW Anderson capsule collection will be available from June 15, and the next collaboration for Versus Versace will be with anorak brand K-Way.
