Lacoste opens biggest store
Fashion and sportswear brand Lacoste has opened its largest flagship store in the world on Brompton Road, Knightsbridge.
The three-floor store, houses the brands mainline collections for men and women, the new contemporary L!VE collection, footwear, childrenswear, leather goods, eyewear, watches and the exclusive first launch of its home textiles range.
The 6,500 sq ft flagship, which used to be French Connection, has just undergone a 10-week refit and is the only space in the UK to house Lacoste’s new concept, Lacoste Lab. Launched by Lacoste’s Design Director, Christophe Pillet the ‘Lab’ has created an innovative line including a bike, surfboard, skis, football and rugby ball through a series of collaborations.
Other highlights of the store include the “heritage wall” on the ground floor, which showcases the multifaceted world of Lacoste and features images documenting the brand history and the spirit of founder, René Lacoste. Another concept within the store is the ‘Polo Fit’ wall and ‘Polo Bar’, where the brand’s iconic L.12.12. polo shirt is exhibited in all 65 colours.
In addition, Lacoste’s contemporary brand L!VE aimed at the younger 18-25 market has been given its own distinctive store space on the lower ground floor showcasing the collection for men and women.
Launched in 1933, the Lacoste brand has been built on its sporting roots and offers a wide range of products for men, women, and children. In 2010, the brand achieved a wholesale turnover of 1.4 billion Euros, and currently the retailer is present in 114 countries.
