MAC Viva Glam spokesperson Lady Gaga and Nicola Formichetti, Gaga’s stylist, have designed a one-of-a-kind dress as a finale to the MAC AIDS fund 2011 social awareness campaign. The Masterpiece is supported by a short film directed by Ruth Hogben and premiered on the brand’s Facebook page yesterday, October 13.

The Masterpiece, which Gaga is wearing in the short film, is inspired by self-portraits that fans uploaded as part of the social awareness campaign on the Viva Glam website to encourage friends to ‘live with passion and love with protection’.

Over the two years that Gaga has been a MAC ambassador she has helped to raise $55 million, of the $224 million that the fund has achieved; still a little way off Gaga’s goal of reaching $250 million before the XIX International AIDS conference in July 2012.

“The MAC AIDS Fund has raised $224 million to date. Go out and buy a lipstick for your girlfriend, your boyfriend, your mom or your sister - $26 million to go, little monsters!” said Gaga.
