Joseph Altazurra showed tailoring and relaxed draping on the New York catwalk, favouring an elongated silhouette, highlighted by long pencil skirts with risque thigh splits.

This was Altazurra's first collection since Kering bought a share of the company. For a New York brand, the clothes had exquisite craftsmanship, with embroidery and luxe fabrics.

Key items included masculine shirts, as worn with long skirts, drawstring waists, ponchos, patchwork - as seen on denim - and embroidered jackets, bolero-style.

Details such as fringing was seen on skirts, dresses and sleeves on jackets. Plunging necklines in shirts emphasized the split in the skirts. Crystal embellishments were seen on jackets and knitwear came layered in lightweight fabrics.

Colours were graphic yet light, with soft metallics and pastel injections, along with grey and dusty denim blues.
