Stuart Vevers, former Mulberry and Loewe designer, has unveiled his debut Coach ready-to-wear collection for Autumn/Winter 2014 during New York Fashion Week.

The designer, who was appointed creative director last year to replace Reed Krakoff, was brought in to push forward with Coach’s “brand transformation” and to lead all “creative aspects” of the Coach brand from women’s and men’s design to brand imagery and store environments.

Vevers has only been in his executive creative director role since October but he has put Coach’s first official ready-to-wear line on the map with this strong and youthful collection. Referencing traditional American sportswear, the collection has a preppie vibe with toggled duffle coats, oversized red plaid jackets, and wool miniskirts, which were all teamed with chunky ankle boots or flat riding boots, long scarves and bold handbags shown in boxy shapes.
