New York Fashion Week got off to a strong start, despite design houses rushing against the clock after the recent tornadoes and storms.
Victoria Beckham received raving reviews for her precision-cut label, and her strength in delivering must-have dresses each season will leave none of her customers disappointed for Spring 2012.
Sharply tailored pieces graced the runway, but the bodycon aesthetic was replaced by corseted and geometric cut pieces, highlighting volume, luxury detailing - it's all in the seams - and colour blocking. Shades of navy and tangerine stood out in dresses, as did the growing accessories line, highlighted by the leather shoppers and pochettes, which no doubt will come with a price tag to match.
The runway shoes were designed by Christian Louboutin and the hats by British milliner Stephen Jones.
