Luxury label Michael Kors is marking World Food Day with a month-long global initiative to fight world hunger, with its #WatchHungerStop campaign in partnership with the United Nations World Food Programme.

To raise awareness of the campaign, the Michael Kors teams will be hitting the streets on World Food Day, October 16, to hand out T-shirts to customers featuring the slogan Watch Hunger Stop outside six of its stores in New York, Berlin, Rio de Janeiro, Tokyo and Hong Kong. These fans will then have their faces live-streamed on billboards in Times Square, as well as on the designer’s dedicated microsite, WatchHungerStop.com to highlight the important cause.

In addition, sales from the Kors 100 Series watch, specially designed to support the World Food Programme, will help children in hunger-stricken areas receive a nutritious meal.

“The response to Watch Hunger Stop has been amazing,” Kors said. “We delivered one and a half million meals to children in less than six months, and we’ve only just begun. Our hope for World Food Day is to get people talking about hunger, and about the many ways they can help address the problem. Donate, volunteer, talk, text, tweet—really, everyone can be an ambassador.”

The campaign will also be raising awareness to the fight against hunger on social media platforms including Twitter and Instagram using the #WatchHungerStop hashtag.
