What does the creative industry of tomorrow demand from makers, brands and creative professionals? During GLUE Amsterdam, Artemis Academie will present Creative Industry Voices from September 17 to 19. This will feature three days of free talks from leading makers, designers, thinkers and creative leaders.

The programme also offers plenty of inspiration for professionals and talent from the fashion and lifestyle industry. Mijke van Ballegooijen, CEO of BYBORRE, will share her vision on textile innovation. She will also address how radical creativity can contribute to a more transparent and responsible textile system.

Roman Stikkelorum, co-founder and managing director of Verve, will explore the meaning of beauty, branding and cultural relevance. He will discuss why beauty is particularly relevant now and how brands can create meaning through design and culture that goes beyond mere form.

The changing role of creative talent will also be discussed. During a panel discussion, Coco Padding (Medusa Medusa), Jur Baart (Fitzroy) and Motilayo Williams (formerly of Monks) will explore the creative team of the future. They will address what AI and hybrid disciplines mean for collaboration. With more people becoming creators, the panel will also consider the future criteria for selecting creative talent. Will it be based on technique, taste, vision or the ability to create something truly unique and culturally relevant?

The programme also covers material research, reuse and co-design, as well as healing aesthetics, culture and creative entrepreneurship. These different disciplines and perspectives are all connected by a creative industry that is constantly evolving.

In addition to Van Ballegooijen, Stikkelorum, Padding, Baart and Williams, there will be talks by Janine Toussaint (Moving Arts Project), Sheryl Leysner (Ruwe Bolster), Oep Schilling (Fiction Factory & Wikkelhouse), Tanja Soeter (creative director), Martina Halsema (formerly of Amsterdam Art) and Rubiah Balsem (Studio Balsem).
