IED Fashion Shows 2021 - The fashion movie as ultimate trends forecasting

With the Fashion shows of 2021 in Milan, Rome, Madrid and Barcelona IED brought the full attention back to the essential value of physicality, after all the deprivations of affection, contact and sharing experienced due to the pandemic. The fil rouge of the resulting 4 fashion films was definitely being physical and audacious, in an evocative journey between subjective memory and the destruction of pre-existing aesthetic canons. The urgence was to communicate a rebirth through bold colors and shapes.

Speaking of IED Milano, PÓST - Avant Défilé 2021 is the video performance filmed in seven places of culture in Milan - stopped by the pandemic crisis and back to protagonists of the recovery - to present the eleven collections of the thesis designed by the best Fashion Design graduates in IED Milano. Under the creative direction of Olivia Spinelli, IED Milano Fashion School Director, and directed by Nicola Garzetti, the students' collections come to life in a dialogue between fashion and dance, a union that finds its foundation in a common ground, the human body, a communicative vector of life and restart. The meeting with the physicality of the Accademia Kataklò performers, directed by Giulia Staccioli and Vito Cassano.

IED Spain students of the Undergraduate Course in Fashion Design and the BA (Hons) in Fashion Design from respectively IED Madrid and Barcelona, presented their Final Projects in two fashion shows in digital format.

More than 40 students participated in two Fashion Films created especially to highlight the collections developed as final projects.

The works were presented in two exceptional settings: IED Madrid chose the Vallehermoso stadium, while IED Barcelona the iconic Casa Vicens, the first work of the modernist architect Antoni Gaudí.

IED Madrid Graduation Fashion Show 2021 is a film inspired by long-distance running, dodging obstacles, jumping over barriers to reach the finish line. With a scenario that represents the effort and difficulties that the students have had to face, especially during the last few months, to be able to carry out their designs.

Fashioners of the World 2021 - IED Barcelona - highlights the parallelism between architecture and the proposals of the recent graduates: experimentation and creativity.

IED Roma students took the catwalk of Altaroma, a great location for emerging talents, with Explosion - IED Roma x Altaroma 2021: a fashion show dedicated to the best creations of the students of the Undergraduate courses in Fashion Design and Jewelry Design. In the spotlight the collections created by 12 graduates: looks, accessories, jewelry are the result of a didactic and creative process that lasted 3 years, ranging from prêt-à-porter to haute couture and lingerie.

“Explosion is the magnetic force that pulls us outside, generating chain reactions. In times like these, those who work with creativity and fashion have the opportunity to transform dissonance into unexpected connections and highlight the particles of a new, fluid energy that is released on the catwalk," said Paola Pattacini, Coordinator of IED Roma Fashion school.
