Pigini, a footwear company that is part of Gucci’s industrial platform, will launch a series of training activities for young talent after the construction of Pigini’s new production plant that will be dedicated to the production of uppers for Gucci’s footwear.

In line with the opening of the new factory, Pigini’s training activities will focus on training young people between the ages of 18 and 26 years in operations of leather goods and footwear as part of the Gucci École de l'Amour project.

Massimo Rigucci, CEO of ArtLab and the head of production for bags, shoes and industrial operations, said in a statement: “In line with our commitment to the supply chain, we want to offer our contribution to rehabilitating artisanal crafts in the eyes of young people, offering them a unique training opportunity and stimulating professional paths, in a future-oriented context.”

The new production plant will be equipped with the latest production systems and cover over 10,000 square meters. It aims to bring a positive impact to the area of Recanati in Italy as when it is completed the factory will employ around 400 people and offer more training for young talent.

The construction will begin in 2023 and will be completed by the beginning of 2024.
