Spanish women’s wear brand founded by Constan Hernandez that recently changed its name from Hoss Intropia to Intropia has now roped in former Inditex chief Paula Rodriguez as the Chief Executive of the company. She steps into the role vacated by Rafael Abitbol, who left the company in 2012.

Backed by 16 years of retail experience with Inditex, LVMH, Gucci and Michael Kors, Rodriguez joins Intopia at the time when the company is set for an international expansion of the brand. The company expects Rodriguez to strengthen the brand’s positioning in the global market.

Intropia is present in over 40 countries with over 1,000 outlets. In Europe, it operates 17 stores in Spain, one in London, one in Rome and two in Portugal. In addition, the collection is also retailed at El Corte Ingles in Spain and Portugal, and Printemps in France.

The brand is on retail expansion spree with single-brand stores and points of sale in Mexico, Qatar, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Lebanon, Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Bahrain and South Korea. The brand enjoys presence in other countries like Russia, China, Japan, Australia and Turkey, among others.

Intropia expects the repositioning exercise to impact sales for the next two years but anticipates rise in sales and profit in 2017. The company has forecasted that revenues will reach around 76 million euros (85 million dollars) in 2020, with a gross operating profit (EBITDA) of 10 million euros (11 million dollars). The company had reported a turnover of around 50 million euros (56 million dollars) at the end of 2014.
