Grendene USA appoints new director of sales and merchandising

Grendene USA has announced Kelly Schmidt as its new director of sales and merchandising for the brands Rider and Cartago. Grendene USA is the distributor for sandal brands Rider, Ipanema, Grendha, Zaxy and Cartago in the American market.

”I’ve always been fond of Grendene’s commitment to creating high-quality products for the market”, said Schmidt in a statement. “The company’s global distribution continues to grow at a rapid pace and I look forward to continuing this momentum by incorporating innovative marketing strategies to reach new customers in one of the most competitive markets in the world”.

Schmidt has over 20 years of wholesale experience. Prior to joining Grendene, she worked as Vice President of sales at Brandmovers and Okabashi, where she helped to launch sister brand Oka b.

Founded in Brazil in 1971, Grendene S.A is the world’s largest manufacturer of flip-flop sandals. It entered the US market in 1982. Grendene USA, Inc. is an independent subsidiary of the Brazilian parent company.
