Irish e-commerce platform eShopWorld sets sail to hit 1 billion euro turnover by 2020

Dublin-based e-commerce company eShopWorld is all set to become a 1 billion euro turnover company by 2020. Aimed at hitting its goal, eShopWorld has just named David Power as chief solutions officer.

The company, founded seven years ago, reported a year-on-year 75 percent increase in sales over the Black Friday to Cyber Monday extended weekend. Total volume sales over the weekend increased from 60,000 units to over 105,000 on the comparable weekend in 2016, with sales by value up 70 percent, noted the ‘Irish Independent’.

eShopWorld has carved itself a reputation as Ireland's fastest-growing technology company, now expecting to secure a 100 million euro increase in online sales in 2017, up from over 200 million euro in 2016, recalls the ‘Irish Times’.

The company works with some of the world's most recognisable lingerie, fashion and sportswear brands, managing the e-commerce requirements of five of the top 10 apparel brands, in over 200 global markets.

eShopWorld was valued at 300 million euro earlier this year in a deal which saw Asendia, a joint venture with La Poste in France and Swiss Post, increase its stake in the company from 40 to 50 percent. The bulk of the remaining stake belongs to the company’s founder Tommy Kelly.
