After reporting buoyant Black Friday, online fashion marketplace Bluefly has pulled shutters on its online platform as well as office premises on Friday, reports The Post. The report adds that even the company’s staffers were taken aback when they reached Bluefly’s West 39th Street office on Friday. According to the sources cited by The Post, the company is planning to liquidate.

While the customers are worried about the fate of orders placed with Bluefly, a message on the company’s website says: “We will return shortly. We apologize for the inconvenience. We’re performing some maintenance.”

During the 2018 Black Friday period from November 19 to 26, Bluefly reported gross merchandise volume (GMV) of 1.7 million dollars and 15,000 orders, a 20 percent increase from the prior year period.

Founded in 1998, Bluefly, which specializes in discounted men’s and women’s clothing and accessories, as well as beauty and home furnishings, completed transferring its marketplace on the Mirakl platform by the end of November 2018.
