After refusing to step down as Chair of Taveta Investments a fortnight ago saying she had a “sense of duty” towards Sir Philip Green’s retail empire, Karren Brady has now put in her papers, reports The Guardian. She had earlier refused to resign following accusations of sexual harassment against Green.

The report added that a statement from Taveta, owner of Arcadia Group, which runs brands such as Topman, Miss Selfridge and Dorothy Perkins, announced the departure of Brady and Sharon Brown, a non-executive director who headed its audit and risk committee, from its board.

“Taveta would like to announce that Karren Brady and Sharon Brown (in their respective capacities as non-executive chairman and non-executive director) have resigned from its board. Taveta thanks them for their contribution and wishes them well for the future,” statement from Taveta said.

After the Daily Telegraph reported fresh allegations of sexual misconduct against Green, Brady had said, she had a “sense of duty” towards employees of Green’s group and “walking away” would have been the easy thing to do.
