Givenchy has selected Laura Dubin-Wander to be their new U.S. president. Dubin-Wander will be in charge of the brand's U.S. strategy. The U.S. currently represents 20 percent of their business. She began her new role this week, where she reports to Paris-based CEO Phillippe Fortunato. Fortunato is currently the force behind the luxury label's expansion.

Dubin-Wander is no stranger to the luxury goods market. Prior to her new role at Givenchy, she served as vice president of Christian Dior Couture, a role she held beginning in 2012. Her successor at Dior has not been named.

Both Dior and Givenchy are owned by LVMH Moet Hennessy Louis Vuitton, so Dubin-Wander will just be switching fashion houses rather than moving to an entirely new company.

In addition to her time at Dior, she has also held stints at Victoria's Secret, Dana Buchman, Laundry by Shelli Segal, and Martin + Osa.

The highly experienced woman will be arriving at the brand at a very promising time. Creative director Ricardo Tisci's affiliation with celebrities like Kanye West and Kim Kardashian has helped catapult Givenchy to household name status. Last September, the brand held a massive runway show at New York Fashion Week that was open to select members of the public.

Last year, they also began expanding in America with a new Madison Avenue boutique. They currently have plans to open stores in California and Florida, with plans for a new store in Miami's Aventura Mall. Givenchy is also looking to expand their business with wholesale partners like Neiman Marcus and Saks Fifth Avenue.
