Monsoon reportedly shutting down 141 stores

Monsoon would have allegedly decided to close its largest shops, putting in jeopardy hundreds of jobs across the country. The retailer will shut down those shops that have the Monsoon and Accessorize brands.

As reported by ‘The Guardian’ this Friday, Monsoon will get started with those locations that combine both brands in a single shop and will close the dual outlets across the country as their leases expire over the next five years.

Market sources indicate that the number of stores to be closed following the aforementioned parameters will hit a total 141.

A source close to the company quoted by the ‘Guardian’ said the crossover between Monsoon and Accessorize customers was “actually lower than you would think”.

It´s The restructuring is part of a wide-ranging strategic overhaul led by the new chief executive, Paul Allen. It is a reversal of the strategy pursued under the former boss John Browett.

Browett left Monsoon Accessorize’s reigns boss early last year, when he was replaced by Allen, the former boss of Jacques Vert.
